Tens of Israeli settlers defile al-Aqsa Mosque complex

October 10, 2021

OCCUPIED JERUSALEM - Today, Sunday, settlers performed Talmudic rituals in the courtyards of the blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque, under the protection of the Israeli occupation forces, Oct 10.

Employees of the Islamic Awqaf (Endowment) Department tried to prevent the settlers from breaking into the compounds, but the occupation forces intervened in order to secure their “prayers” and provocative tours, eyewitnesses said.

The settlers desecrated the Al-Aqsa through the Bab al-Maghariba in groups from the early morning hours, in an attempt to create a new reality that enables the settlers to pray continuously at Al-Aqsa Mosque.

The so-called Israeli "magistrate court" had issued a decision on the sixth of this month, granting settlers the right to perform "silent prayers" in the courtyards of Al-Aqsa Mosque, but the "central" occupation court in Jerusalem, Friday, annulled that decision of the "magistrate's court".

Granting "Israeli Jews" the right to perform "silent prayers" in Al-Aqsa Mosque was widely condemned by Palestinians, Arabs, and international bodies, considering it a "blatant violation and disregard for international conventions and humanitarian norms, and a clear provocation to the feelings of Muslims around the world."
