The Sword of Jerusalem defeats apartheid Israel's "Guardian of the Walls"

Al-Qassam Website - Saif Al-Quds (Sword of Jerusalem) was a decisive battle in the history of the resistance against apartheid Israel that has been going on for seven decades, during which the Brigades and the Palestinian resistance factions proved the failure of the Zionist deterrence theory. It also showed the high capabilities of the resistance that managed to destroy the image of the colonial entity inaugurating the era of the Freedom Day.

The last Warning

After the escalation of the attacks of the Israeli occupation forces in the occupied Jerusalem and West Bank, in an attempt to seize the Al-Aqsa Mosque and displace the residents of the Sheikh Jarrah neighborhood from their homes, the Al-Qassam Brigades were closely monitoring the scene.

On May 4, 2021, the Al-Qassam Chief of Staff, Mohammed Deif, issued an ultimatum to the occupation entity to pull out its troops from occupied Jerusalem and the holy Al-Aqsa Mosque compound warning that "If the aggression against our people in the Sheikh Jarrah neighborhood does not stop immediately, we will not stand idly by and the occupation authorities will pay a heavy price."
After the Israeli occupation failed to comply with the ultimatum Al-Qassam issued, and at exactly six o’clock in the evening of Monday, May 10, 2021, the Al-Qassam Brigades launched a barrage of land-based missiles toward the occupation's positions in occupied Jerusalem, marking the start of the Saif Al-Quds battle, which came as a shocking surprise to the colonial authorities.

Saif Al-Quds

During the 11-day-offensive on the Gaza Strip, the Al-Qassam Brigades managed to impose its control over the course of the battle, through its orders to the occupation authorities, the most important of which was imposing a curfew in some illegal settlements across occupied Palestine.  

On the first day, the Al-Qassam Brigades hit Israeli occupation positions in occupied Jerusalem with homemade rockets to confirm that the battle erupted in defense of Jerusalem and its residents.
On the third day of the battle, the Brigades succeeded in targeting an Israeli occupation military vehicle with an anti-tank missile near the colonial settlement of "Netiv Hasara" in the northern Gaza Strip killing two Zionist soldiers and injuring others. And on the last day of the offensive, Al-Qassam targeted an Israeli troop carrier near the Zikim military base in the northern Gaza Strip.

Unique Weapons

During the battle of Saif Al-Quds, the Al-Qassam Brigades used unique homemade weapons for the first time, the most prominent of which was the “Ayyash 250” missile which was named after the Qassam leader, Yahya Ayyash.

The Brigades also unveiled the “Shehab” suicide drone, which carried out several missions during the Israeli aggression, including targeting the occupation’s gas rigs at sea off the shore of northern Gaza, as well as targeting a factory and military enclaves near the Gaza Strip.
Al-Qassam also unveiled the Al-Zawari drone, through which it carried out observation and reconnaissance flights to locate some targets inside the occupied territories. It was named after the martyred engineer, Muhammad Al-Zawari.

Victory of the Resistance

After 11 days, the battle of Sayf al-Quds came to an end, and at exactly two o'clock in the morning of Friday, May 21, Gaza announced its victory with the strength of its resistance and the valor of its people, after it taught the enemy a harsh lesson, and dealt it a painful blow that will left painful effects on its future.
Zionist political and military analysts agreed on the political and military failure of the occupation government in the battle. They also criticized the Israeli occupation military forces in light of the results of the offensive's results, which revealed the failures and fragility of its internal front. The battle resulted in the killing of 14 Zionists and the injury of hundreds. 
On the first anniversary of the battle, the Al-Qassam Brigades is still wielding the sword of Jerusalem backed by its people in all parts of occupied Palestine in support of Al-Quds and Al-Aqsa. In addition, the Brigades affirms that its series of responses to the Israeli occupation aggression will not stop until it does.
