Al-Qassam Website - Hamas has strongly condemned the decision by the Israeli occupation to expand the construction of illegal settlements on private Palestinian land in villages in occupied Jerusalem as well as the plan to build 1,703 new colonial settlement units in the illegal settlements of "Ramot" and "Ramat Shlomo".

This decision "represents a new act of ethnic cleansing carried out by the fascist Israeli occupation government against the Palestinian population," Hamas added.

The Palestinian Islamic resistance movement deplored the international community's inaction on illegal settlement construction on occupied Palestinian territory.

Hamas urged the international community and the United Nations to fulfil their political, legal, and moral obligations in bringing about an end to the Israeli occupation and recognising the Palestinian people's right to resist until they achieve their aspirations for freedom, self-determination, and the establishment of an independent Palestinian state with Jerusalem as its capital.
