West Bank - June 26 - Israeli occupation forces suppressed Friday an anti-settlement demonstration in the West Bank town of Kafr Qaddoum in eastern Qalqilia, injuring dozens of Palestinians.

Murad Shtaiwi, the coordinator of the Popular Resistance Committee in Kafr Qaddoum, said that Israeli occupation troops had broken into Kadr Qaddoum and fired a hail of rubber-coated steel bullets and poisonous gas at participants in the peaceful protest.

The Palestine Red Crescent Society reported that its medical crews had provided first aid to nine civilians injured with rubber-coated metal bullets and dozens others suffering from breathing difficulties after inhaling gas fired by Israeli occupation soldiers.

For the ninth year in a row, Kafr Qaddum has seen weekly, peaceful demonstrations to demand the reopening of the village’s main road and to protest the growing settlement activity in its vicinity.
