Israeli Settlers Storm Al-Aqsa Mosque Courtyards

August 26, 2021

On Thursday morning, settlers, including the former Likud candidate for party leadership, and the far-right Knesset member, Moshe Feiglin, stormed the courtyards of the Al-Aqsa Mosque, under the Israeli occupation forces’ heavy protection.

A large group of settlers stormed Al-Aqsa Mosque since the early morning hours, guarded by the occupation forces, local sources reported.

The settlers committed "blatant violations during their storming wearing clothes that violate the sanctity of the Mosque, and performing public Talmudic rituals," the sources added.

Feiglin is considered one of the right-wing extremists who openly demand demolishing the blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque and constructing the "alleged temple".

The settlers' incursions usually take place in two periods; morning and afternoon prayer, through the “Mughrabi Gate”, whose keys have been controlled by the occupation authorities since occupying Jerusalem in 1967.

Simultaneously with the settlers' incursions, the occupation forces tighten their restrictions on worshipers arriving at the Al-Aqsa Mosque and take their personal identities at the external gates.

Al-Aqsa Mosque is subjected almost daily to a series of incursions and violations by settlers, interspersed with provocations against Palestinian worshipers, arrests, and deportations from the mosque.
