Defying demolition, aggression: Palestinian heroic operations continue nonstop

September 04, 2023

Al-Qassam Website - Though the Israeli occupation forces would impose a complete blockade on and quickly demolish family homes of Palestinians involved in operations against the settler-colonial occupation, these heroic operations continue nonstop.

The Israeli occupation forces have been laying a tight siege to the town of Aqraba, located south of the occupied West Bank city of Nablus. The siege saw the placement of numerous military checkpoints at the entrances to and vicinity of the town.

During the illegal blockade, the occupation forces mapped for demolition the home of Palestinian citizen Eisa Bani Fadel, the father of a Palestinian freedom fighter allegedly involved in the Huwwara operation that took place weeks ago and resulted in the killing of two Zionist colonisers.

Following each operation executed by the resistance fighters in the occupied West Bank, the occupation authorities resorted to demolishing the fighters' family homes in a botched attempt to crush the Palestinian people's escalating resistance.

According to the Palestinian Information Center, since the start of 2023, the Israeli occupation forces have demolished approximately 15 homes and apartments belonging to Palestinians involved in operations against the occupation forces and colonial settlers.

Head of Jerusalem Legal Aid and Human Rights Center (JLAC) Bassam Karajeh emphasised that the Israeli occupation had significantly intensified the demolition orders targeting Palestinian structures.

Since 2009, more than 9,635 Palestinian-owned properties have been demolished by the occupation authorities, rendering more than 13,700 Palestinians, including 7,100 children and 3,000 women, homeless, Shireen website documented.

Throughout 2023, the occupation authorities have also razed at least 512 Palestinian structures, comprising 161 houses and 351 non-residential facilities. Consequently, no fewer than 627 Palestinians, including 317 children and 152 women, have been forcibly evicted from their homes due to this illegal policy.

Imad Abu Awwad, an expert on Israeli affairs, asserted that the Israeli occupation "has never missed an opportunity to inflict harm upon Palestinians in the occupied West Bank".

He added that the occupation forces employed the strategies of closing areas, separating villages from cities, conducting large-scale detention raids against Palestinians, and expanding colonial settlements. Palestinian resistance was not broken down, though.

Showing little concern for the occupation policies and anticipated demolition of homes, Palestinians persist unceasingly in exercising their legitimate right to resistance, as per international law.
