Al-Qassam Mourns Martyrdom of Senior Commander in Gaza

Al-Qassam Website _ With the utmost pride and trust in Allah’s imminent victory, the Al-Qassam Brigades announces the martyrdom of the great commander Mohammed Abdul Salam al-Yazouri “Abu Haitham”, Member of the General Military Council of the Al-Qassam Brigades and Commander of the Khan Younis Brigade.

He was martyred last night, Thursday, 10-09-2026, in a cowardly assassination after a lifetime of jihad and sacrifice.

Throughout his life, he held several leadership positions within the Khan Younis Brigade, starting as Commander of the Central Khan Younis Battalion, then served as Head of the Brigade's Intelligence, where he played a key role and contributed significantly to planning the Operation Al-Aqsa Flood. He later commanded the Weapons and Services Battalion and served as Deputy Brigade Commander, before his journey of jihad was crowned with leadership of the Khan Younis Brigade, succeeding the commanders before him.

Commander “Abu Haitham” achieved what he had long wished for since joining the ranks of the Brigades. He received the highest honor, just as tens of thousands of our people and fighters have, after surviving multiple attempts on his life.

We pledge to Allah and to our martyrs that we will remain on their path and continue their struggle until Allah grants us victory. The commander will be followed by thousands of courageous leaders and fighters who will not rest until the land and holy sites are cleansed of the occupation.

Indeed, it is a Jihad... unto victory or martyrdom.
