WEST BANK - The Israeli occupation bulldozers, under the protection of its forces, demolished a house on the pretext of lacking building permits, in the city of Lod, in the occupied West Bank, Sunday, October 31.
The house the occupation authorities demolished belonged to Ibrahim al-Turi in the Mahatta neighborhood in Lod, pointing out that the occupation forces prevented the residents from approaching the area until the demolition was executed, eyewitnesses said.
In a related context, the occupation authorities forced Zaher Tayeh from Qalansuwa city to self-demolish his house, the day before yesterday, Friday morning, as he had to personally demolish his house after receiving demolition orders and immediate demolition notices. They would also be subjected to heavy fines if they didn’t tear it down himself, on the pretext of lacking construction permits. All his attempts to obtain a building permit for the house were unsuccessful due to the intransigence of the authorities and their insistence on demolishing the house.
Arab towns witnessed an escalation in the demolition of homes, shops, and industrial workshops on the pretext of not having a license, as it happened in Ain Mahel, Jaffa, Shafa Amr, Kafr Qassem, Qalansuwa, Kafr Yasif, Arara, Umm al-Fahm, Lydda, Jaffa, Sakhnin, Hurfish, and other Arab towns in the Negev and others.
