Al-Qassam Website _ On the last Friday of Ramadan, Palestine supporters around the world mark “Al-Quds Day” which is an annual international day to express support and oppose the Israeli occupation of Palestine. Iran’s first supreme leader, Ruhollah Khomeini, established Quds Day in 1979 shortly after the Iranian Revolution to show solidarity with Palestinians and reject Israeli occupation of Jerusalem. It has since become a symbol of resistance.
In this year, the occasion takes place in a decisive historical moment in which the US- Israel’s war on Iran represents a blatant violation of the international law and undermines the security and stability of the region.
In a statement issued by Abu Obaida, Spokesperson for the Ezzeddin Al-Qassam Brigades, the Palestinian resistance expressed its gratitude to the leadership and people of the Islamic Republic of Iran.
“The mobilization of millions of the dear Iranian people today in support of Al-Aqsa, despite the frenzied wars waged against them, and the unity between the leadership and the masses, serves as further proof of their principled stance in support of Palestine”. Said Abu Obida.
The occupation's closure of Al-Aqsa Mosque for the 15th consecutive day and the prevention of worshippers from performing prayers received significant attention in the spokesperson's statement.
“Jerusalem groans under the yoke of occupation, and Al-Aqsa Mosque stands empty of worshippers; meanwhile, your true enemy remains the Zionist entity, a predator lying in wait, expanding its circle of aggression against our nation day after day”. Added Abu Obida.
The International Quds Day remains an occasion to renew the pledge to continue the path of liberating Al-Aqsa Mosque and to stand firm against the occupation's conspiracies aimed at Judaizing it and altering the features of the holy city.
