Confrontations arose between the residents of Kafr Qaddoum village, east of Qalqilya, and the Israeli occupation forces, following the start of a popular anti-settlement march in the village, on this Saturday afternoon.
Local sources reported that Israeli occupying forces fired tear gas canisters, and shot citizens with metal ammunition, leaving many injured and suffocated.
Since the beginning of July 2011, Kafr Qaddoum has been witnessing every Friday and Saturday marches demanding the opening of the village street, which was closed by the occupation forces during the Al-Aqsa Intifada in 2003.
The importance of the entrance to the village is that it connects it with its surrounding Palestinian villages and towns, which caused great suffering to the citizens after it was closed.
During the past week, four young men from occupied Jerusalem, Nablus and Ramallah were martyred, and 86 points of confrontation were observed, including two stabbing attacks, and a car-ramming operation, in several areas in the occupied West Bank.
