Israeli occupation authorities demolish Palestinian-owned house in Jerusalem

June 01, 2022

Israeli occupation forces demolished a Palestinian-owned house in the town of Al-Isawiya in occupied Jerusalem, on the pretext of building without a permit.
And local sources reported that Israeli occupation bulldozers reduced Hatem Abu Riyala’s house into rubble, after sealing it off and preventing its residents from reaching it.

The house was first demolished by Israeli occupation authorities in 1999, and exorbitant fines were imposed on its owner who was paralyzed while demolishing the house and detained for not paying the fines.

The policy of demolishing Palestinian-owned homes is an old Israeli methodology since the establishment of the occupying state in 1948. Since the Nakba, the Israeli occupation authorities have destroyed more than 500 Palestinian villages and towns.
The number of Palestinian homes demolished by the occupation authorities has been estimated at about 170,000.
