Israeli occupation soldiers shot dead two Palestinian freedom fighters  this early morning and injured nineteen others during clashes after the occupying soldiers invaded the Old City of Nablus, in the northern part of the occupied West Bank.

The Palestinian Red Crescent Society announced the martyrdom of the two young men, Abd al-Rahman Subuh, 29, and Muhammad Al-Azizi, 22, as they were shot dead by the Israeli occupation forces during the violent clashes that took place in the Old City that lasted for nearly 4 hours.

Medical sources said three Palestinians suffered moderate wounds, one was shot in the head and is in critical condition and later succumbed to wounds and at least sixteen suffered mild-to-moderate injuries.

They added that the medics had to take alternate and longer routes to reach the invaded areas after the Israeli occupation forces blocked many streets and refused to allow them to cross.

Local sources said the attacks occurred when dozens of the occupation soldiers invaded the Old City, especially the Al-Yasmina neighborhood, leading to protests before they fired a barrage of live rounds, rubber-coated steel bullets, and gas bombs.

The Palestinians used loudspeakers of several mosques calling for blood donations at the hospital and asking to help the families in the invaded areas.

The occupation soldiers also invaded and ransacked several buildings overlooking the Old City and occupied their rooftops to use as firing posts and monitoring towers.

During the invasion, the occupation soldiers fired an anti-personnel rocket at a house they surrounded in the Al-Yasmin neighborhood in the Old City.
The family was on the property and was pleading to be allowed to leave, but the soldiers were sealing off their home, not allowing anybody to enter or leave it.

Nablus has been subject to constant Israeli occupation military invasions and violations, in addition to exchanges of fire, after the undercover Israeli occupation soldiers assassinated three young men on February 8th, 2022.
