A Palestinian girl, who was critically injured by Israeli occupation airstrikes, in Khan Younis in the southern Gaza Strip, succumbed to wounds she sustained after Israeli occupation warplanes bombarded a location where she and her family were sitting.

Lyan Musleh Al-Sha’er, 11, was with her family at the beach in Gaza when the army fired missiles. She suffered shrapnel wounds to the head.

She was rushed to surgery in Gaza; the doctors tried to save her life and performed brain surgery. Al-Sha'er was clinically dead as only her heart was pumping before she was pronounced dead.

Israeli occupation airstrikes on Gaza have killed at least forty-six Palestinians, including five-year-old children and two senior Islamic Jihad Movement leaders, and wounded dozens of others, local sources said.

Her death brings the number of Palestinians killed by Israeli occupation missiles and shells during the three-day offensive (August 5, 6, and 7) on Gaza to 48, including one elder, three women, and sixteen children. The number of wounded Palestinians is 360, including 19 elders, 58 women, and 151 children.
