The Palestinian Islamic Resistance Movement Hamas has mourned the martyrdom of Palestinian minor Amer Abu Zaytoon, 16, who was extrajudicially killed by Israeli occupation forces in the Balata refugee camp in Nablus city.

In a press statement, the Movement confirmed that the Palestinian people "will continue to stand steadfast against the Israeli occupation’s crimes and violations."

Hamas reiterated that resisting the occupation is a legitimate right in their quest for freedom as stipulated in UN Resolution 37/43, dated December 3, 1982, which reaffirms “the legitimacy of the struggle of peoples for independence, territorial integrity, national unity and liberation from colonial and foreign domination and occupation by all available means, including armed struggle.”
