Al-Qassam Website _ The Ezzeddin Al-Qassam Brigades announced on Wednesday, September 9, 2026, the martyrdom of commander and mujahid *Farah Ahmad Abdul Majid Hamed*, a member of the Brigades’ Military Council in the West Bank.

According to the Brigades’ statement, Hamed was killed in what it described as a "cowardly assassination" targeting him west of Gaza City. The Brigades prayed that Allah would accept him among the martyrs and grant him the highest ranks in Paradise.

The statement said Commander “Abu Ahmed” was martyred following a long journey of jihad and sacrifice. It noted that he had been part of the Silwad Qassam cell during the Al-Aqsa Intifada, which carried out 9 operations in the West Bank that resulted in the killing of 6 Zionists — most of them soldiers — and the wounding of others.

Following his release from Israeli captivity in the 2011 Wafa Al-Ahrar prisoner exchange deal, Hamed continued his activities in the Gaza Strip, where he took part in leading, directing, and fighting on the front lines until his death, the statement added.

The Al-Qassam Brigades said they bid farewell to "one of the West Bank’s great leaders who spent his life striving in the path of Allah." The Brigades renewed their pledge to continue "on the path of jihad, no matter how great the sacrifices."

The statement also called on the youth and fighters of the West Bank to follow in the footsteps of Commander Abu Ahmed, to "shake off complacency, and to rise to defend their land, their honor, and their holy sites." 

It concluded: "This is the path, and here is the field. Allah is with you and will never let your deeds be lost. Indeed, this is a Jihad... unto victory or martyrdom."
