Al-Qassam Website - Today marks the 27th anniversary of the "Tunnel Uprising," a significant event in the Palestinian struggle for freedom. During this period, Palestinians from across occupied Palestine came together to protest against the Israeli occupation forces' excavation of a tunnel beneath the al-Aqsa Mosque's Buraq Wall.

This protest endured for half a year and tragically saw the loss of numerous innocent Palestinian lives, with hundreds more sustaining injuries at the hands of the Israeli occupation forces.

The Palestinian Islamic Resistance Movement Hamas commemorated this anniversary, reiterating the occupied Jerusalem and its al-Aqsa Mosque would continue to be at the heart of the freedom struggle against the settler colonial occupation.

In a press statement, Hamas said that "this anniversary coincides with a surge in Israeli occupation forces and colonial settlers' attacks against Palestinian people and sanctities".
