Al-Qassam Website _ On the announcement of the ceasefire agreement in Gaza, the Islamic Resistance Movement, Hamas, announced that the ceasefire agreement was the result of the "legendary resilience of the Palestinian people and the valiant resistance in the Gaza Strip over the course of more than 15 months."
The movement stated that the agreement to end the aggression against Gaza represented a "significant achievement for the Palestinian people, their resistance, the Islamic nation, and the free world." They described it as a milestone in the ongoing battle with the Zionist occupation and "a step toward achieving the Palestinian people's aspirations for liberation and return".
Hamas explained that the agreement underscored its responsibility to protect the steadfast people of Gaza by ending the Zionist aggression, halting the bloodshed, and stopping the massacres and genocidal war inflicted upon them.
The group expressed deep gratitude for the honorable stances of solidarity from Arab, Islamic, and international communities. It extended special thanks to those who exposed the occupation's crimes and contributed to halting the aggression. In particular, Hamas expressed its appreciation for the mediators, especially Qatar and Egypt, for their critical efforts in achieving the agreement.
Hamas and the settler-colonial occupation state have agreed to a Gaza ceasefire and hostage release deal following 15 months of war, Qatar said.
Qatari Prime Minister Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdul Rahman Al Thani said the agreement would come into effect on Sunday so long as it was approved by the Israeli occupation cabinet.
