Hamas warns of escalating humanitarian crisis amid ongoing Israeli violations in Gaza

Al-Qassam Website - Hamas spokesperson Hazem Qassem warned on Sunday of a deepening humanitarian catastrophe in the Gaza Strip, as bombed buildings continue to collapse on residents. He emphasised that the situation reflects the severe dangers facing civilians under the tightening Israeli siege, the prevention of reconstruction efforts, and the continued denial of adequate shelter materials.

Qassem pointed to the ongoing Israeli violations, including the killing of Palestinian civilians, as occurred in Gaza City's al-Shejaiya neighborhood earlier this morning. The Hamas' spokesperson stressed that such violations represent a blatant breach of the current ceasefire agreement and further exacerbate the humanitarian disaster in Gaza.

“These violations come even as various parties discuss stabilising the ceasefire and moving towards the second phase of the agreement to end the war on Gaza,” Qassem said. “This reflects a clear Israeli desire to prolong its aggression against our people in Gaza.”

He concluded by urging mediators to take immediate and serious action to halt Israeli violations and compel the occupation to start a genuine reconstruction process for Gaza. “Civilians continue to die—not only from airstrikes but also from collapsing buildings, tent flooding, and freezing temperatures amid the lack of heating resources,” he stated.
